Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Monday laid the foundation stones for a series of national highway projects worth approximately ₹3,900 crore in Telangana’s Komaram Bheem district, reinforcing the Centre’s focus on infrastructure-led growth.

In a bid to address the growing road accident fatalities across India, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced a significant initiative aimed at providing cashless treatment for road accident survivors. The scheme, which is currently being piloted, will provide treatment worth up to ₹1.5 lakh for seven days to crash survivors. It is set to be expanded nationwide by March 2025, with the goal of reducing the number of fatalities and ensuring timely medical care for accident victims.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has issued a stern warning to the Punjab government, threatening to cancel several highway projects if recent attacks on National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) staff are not addressed. In a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Gadkari expressed deep concern over the safety of engineers and contractors working on major infrastructure projects in the state.
