Fast NewsSatish Raj Goravigere Enhances Newsroom Structure at Kannada News Today

Bengaluru | June 21, 2025: Journalist Satish Raj Goravigere, the founder of Kannada News Today, has taken a new step in strengthening the platform’s editorial direction. As part of this initiative, Satish B Gudagenatti has joined the team as Senior Editor, bringing his regional media experience into the fold.

Gudagenatti, who contested from the Belagavi Rural constituency in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, has long been associated with local journalism in North Karnataka. He currently serves as the district president of the Karnataka Journalists’ Union (KJU), Belagavi branch, and also runs two Kannada-language daily newspapers — Belagavi Varadi and Sakshi Prabha.

In addition to his editorial roles, Gudagenatti is involved in community-level activities through his NGO, Organization. The organization supports initiatives in rural development, cultural preservation and youth engagement through sports. His contribution to both journalism and public service has made him a well-known figure in the region.

Commenting on this development, Satish Raj Goravigere shared that the move is aimed at improving local news coverage and widening the editorial team’s expertise.

“We want to build a stronger newsroom that reflects voices from across Karnataka, and Mr. Gudagenatti’s experience fits into that effort,” he said.

Founded in March 2019, Kannada News Today covers a wide range of topics including state politics, rural reporting, and civic affairs. Over the years, the platform has expanded across digital channels, building a steady reader base in Karnataka.

The team is also preparing for the next phase — the launch of a regional Kannada television news channel. Though the official rollout is yet to be confirmed, planning and infrastructure work are already underway.

This editorial update reflects the platform’s continued commitment to meaningful journalism, especially in areas where media coverage is often limited.Earlier this year, Kannada News Today was recognized with a regional media award for its contribution to local journalism and public-interest reporting. The recognition reflects the platform’s growing presence in Karnataka’s digital media landscape, particularly in covering rural and civic issues with consistency.
