Delhi experienced a dramatic change in weather as a powerful sand and thunderstorm, accompanied by rain, swept through the city and surrounding areas, bringing relief from scorching heat after several days of intense summer weather. The sudden storm led to disruptions, including the diversion of two Air India flights to Jaipur due to adverse weather conditions.

In a meteorological shift, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed fresh snowfall and widespread rainfall on Wednesday, causing a drop in day temperatures across the region. The Meteorological department (MeT) reported that the precipitation affected various areas, with light snowfall occurring in higher reaches, including Gulmarg in north Kashmir, Sonamarg in central Kashmir, and Anantnag in south Kashmir.

Pahalgam, nestled in Jammu and Kashmir's picturesque landscape, experienced its chilliest night of the winter season as temperatures plummeted to a bone-chilling -4.3°C. This popular tourist haven, along with Gulmarg, marked the lowest temperatures in the region at -4.3°C and -2.3°C, respectively, making them the coldest spots in Kashmir.

As heavy rains batter various regions in Tamil Nadu, schools in Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, and Villupuram declare a holiday. Puducherry follows suit due to the meteorological department's forecast of intense rainfall. The announcement is in response to safety concerns as the region braces for squally weather and the formation of a low-pressure area.
