The Chhattisgarh Police on Monday announced the successful execution of a major counter-insurgency operation, Operation Sankalp, which led to the recovery of 31 suspected Maoists' bodies from the dense forests near the Karregutta hills along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. The operation, which began on April 21, has been described as one of the largest counter-insurgency missions in Bastar and has resulted in significant operational gains.

In a strong message aimed at Maoists, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged militants to abandon violence, lay down their arms, and surrender, emphasizing that an extensive operation will be launched against them if they do not comply. Speaking on Friday at his residence, Shah addressed 55 victims of Maoist violence from Chhattisgarh, highlighting the government's commitment to eradicating Maoist ideology and violence from the country.
