In a bid to enhance efficiency and transparency in toll collection, the Maharashtra government has announced that all toll plazas across the state will mandate FASTag usage starting April 1. The decision, approved by the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aims to streamline toll payments, reduce vehicle congestion, and save time and fuel for commuters.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a statement declaring the deactivation of FASTags lacking Know Your Customer (KYC) details after January 31. This move is part of the 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' initiative, aimed at discouraging the use of a single FASTag for multiple vehicles and preventing the linking of multiple electronic toll collection tools to a single vehicle.
