Bengaluru’s civic body, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), is set to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to identify illegal constructions and enhance tax collection, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced on Monday. Additionally, BBMP will introduce doorstep delivery of khata (property ownership documents) from April 2025 to streamline property-related services for citizens.

Bengaluru: In a move to enforce building regulations and ensure safety, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to demolish an illegally constructed five-storey building on a 250 sq ft plot in Nanjappa Garden, Babusapalya, Hennur. The building, often referred to as “Burj Khalifa Pro Max” by social media users due to its unusual height on such a small plot, will be torn down overnight as part of a larger citywide initiative to address unauthorized structures.
