The Arunachal Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has approved an expansion of the Chief Minister’s Bal Seva Scheme (CMBSS) and an increase in pensions under the Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme (CMSSS). The decision, made during a state cabinet meeting on Wednesday, aims to provide financial support to orphans, senior citizens, widows, and people with disabilities, according to an official statement.

In the wake of a cloudburst, areas of Arunachal Pradesh's Itanagar city have been submerged, resulting in extensive damage to properties. Reports reveal significant destruction of houses and vehicles due to the flooding, accompanied by landslides in the capital complex affecting both residential and vehicular areas. The situation has prompted authorities to issue warnings for residents to exercise caution and remain vigilant during adverse weather conditions.

In a recent development highlighting India's unwavering stance on the territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar took a swipe at China, asserting that changing names would have no impact on the northeastern state's status as an integral part of India.
