In a significant religious and political gesture, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the revered Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Monday. Kejriwal took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share images of his divine darshan of the Ram Lalla deity, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
Accompanied by his family, including his wife, Kejriwal was seen offering prayers at the temple premises. Similarly, Bhagwant Mann and his wife were photographed seeking blessings from the deity. Kejriwal’s post on X conveyed his reverence for the experience, stating, “Reaching Ayodhya today with my parents and my wife, I had the privilege of having the divine darshan of Ramlala ji in the Shri Ram temple. Bhagwant ji and his family were also present on this occasion. Everyone together had darshan of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram Ji and prayed for the progress of the country and the welfare of all humanity. May Lord Shri Ramchandra ji bless everyone. Jai Shri Ram.”
The visit comes in the wake of the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, which occurred on January 22 in a grand ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The auspicious occasion witnessed the presence of numerous dignitaries, including politicians, cricketers, industrialists, and spiritual leaders. Following the inauguration, the temple opened its doors to the public on January 23, attracting over a million devotees and pilgrims seeking the blessings of Lord Ram Lalla.
In a related development, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced that his party would contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and one in Chandigarh. AAP’s decision underscores its commitment to expand its political presence in the region. Kejriwal emphasized that AAP candidates for these seats would be declared within the next 10-15 days.
AAP’s decision to contest independently in Punjab and Chandigarh comes amid its participation in the INDIA bloc, a coalition comprising parties such as Congress, RJD, SP, TMC, and others. The bloc aims to maximize its seat share in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, seeking to prevent the incumbent Narendra Modi-led BJP government from securing a third consecutive term.
