Late last night in Ranchi, Jharkhand, a shocking incident unfolded at the Extreme Bar where a man shot dead a DJ (disc jockey) after being denied alcohol service. The accused, identified as Abhishek Singh, along with four others, arrived at the bar around 1 am after it had closed. Their request for alcohol was denied by the bar staff, leading to a tragic turn of events.
CCTV footage captured the assailant, Abhishek Singh, entering the bar wearing only shorts and with his face covered by a t-shirt. According to police reports, a heated argument erupted between the group and the bar staff upon refusal of service. It was during this altercation that one of the group members retrieved a rifle and shot the DJ at point-blank range in the chest.
The victim was rushed to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The accused and his associates fled the scene following the shooting. However, swift action by law enforcement led to the arrest of Abhishek Singh in Bihar’s Gaya. He has since been handed over to the Jharkhand Police for further investigation.
Chandan Sinha, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Ranchi, commented on the incident, stating, “On being refused, a heated argument ensued between them and the bar staff. During the argument, one of them brought in a rifle and shot at the DJ in his chest from point-blank range.”
Authorities are currently analyzing the CCTV footage to identify the shooter’s accomplices. Additionally, the bar employees are being questioned to gather more information about the events leading up to the shooting.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting heightened security measures and calls for stricter regulations regarding alcohol-related confrontations. As investigations continue, the focus remains on bringing justice to the victim and ensuring such senseless acts of violence are prevented in the future.
