Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and seasoned Congress leader Kamal Nath has unequivocally dismissed rumors of him defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that there is no truth to such speculations. Addressing media personnel during his visit to Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, Nath firmly stated, “Have you ever heard this from my mouth? Is there any indication? Nothing.”

Nath’s remarks come amid swirling rumors in the political arena suggesting a potential shift in allegiance. However, he has firmly refuted these claims, emphasizing that they are merely media-driven without any substance. His visit to Chhindwara district is part of a five-day itinerary aimed at engaging with constituents and party workers in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

When pressed about the possibility of joining the saffron party, Nath pointed out that the speculation primarily originates from media sources rather than credible indications from him or his associates. He urged the media to refrain from propagating unfounded rumors and demanded clarity before seeking his response.

Despite the swirling rumors, there is no concrete evidence suggesting Nath’s inclination towards the BJP. Instead, he remains steadfast in his commitment to the Congress party’s ideologies and objectives. Additionally, Nath expressed concerns over the recent agricultural damages caused by adverse weather conditions in the state, vowing to advocate for appropriate compensation from the Chief Minister.

Furthermore, Nath criticized the BJP-led state government for its handling of the state’s financial affairs, highlighting the mounting debt burden and emphasizing the importance of prudent fiscal management. Regarding the selection of Congress candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Nath indicated that discussions are underway, with announcements expected imminently.

Nath’s firm rebuttal to the BJP switch speculations underscores his allegiance to the Congress party and his dedication to its principles. As the political landscape continues to evolve in Madhya Pradesh, Nath’s stance reaffirms his role as a stalwart leader within the Congress fold, actively engaged in shaping the party’s trajectory ahead of crucial electoral battles.
