Harish Rathod was born in Ringnod village of Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh. He did his schooling from Sharda Vidya Mandir, his childhood desire was to make a career in singing. He comes from a middle class family. His father was a shopkeeper but due to fire in his shop, he had no source of income, so Harish Rathod took singing away from himself to take care of his family and started teaching children in a coaching institute.

He wrote and sang his songs with the money he had saved, ‘Mujhko Tere Darshan Ho Jate’, ‘Khatu Dham Aaya’, and his first love song written & composed and acted by himself, ‘Main Saans Hoon’.
