Chennai-Mumbai IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bomb Threat

IndiGo issued a statement confirming the bomb threat: “IndiGo flight 6E 5314 operating from Chennai to Mumbai had received a bomb threat. Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol, and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines.”

All passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft, and it is currently undergoing inspection. The airline assured that once all security checks are completed, the aircraft will be returned to the terminal area for further operations.

This incident follows a recent bomb threat on a Delhi-Srinagar Vistara flight and another threat on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi. In both cases, the flights landed safely, and passengers were evacuated without any harm.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) took action against the cabin crew of the IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi, suspending them for violating evacuation protocols. A video clip of the evacuation showed cabin crew members exiting the aircraft with their bags via emergency slides, contrary to international norms that prohibit passengers and crew from taking baggage during evacuations to expedite the process.
