A shocking incident in Delhi’s Model Town was caught on CCTV, showing a man being brutally beaten after he allegedly requested another man to refrain from urinating in public. The incident occurred on Friday when Aryan, the accused, along with two friends, approached Ramfal, the victim, who was sleeping on a footpath. The assault is believed to be in retaliation for an earlier confrontation where Ramfal had asked Aryan not to urinate near a park.
In the CCTV footage, Aryan is seen getting off a two-wheeler, waking up Ramfal, and assaulting him with a stick while his two friends remained on the bike, watching the attack unfold. The brutal beating continued for 20 seconds, with Aryan stopping only briefly before resuming the assault for another 20 seconds. During this time, Ramfal is seen struggling, unable to defend himself.
The footage also captures a car passing by and pedestrians walking on a nearby park track, but no one intervened. One bystander appeared to notice the assault but continued walking without offering help. After the attack, Aryan fled the scene with his friends.
The initial investigation revealed that Aryan worked as a servant in the same area, and the altercation was linked to the previous day’s incident, when Ramfal had urged Aryan to stop urinating in public. The argument escalated, and Aryan returned the next day with his friends to seek revenge.
Aryan was arrested after police analyzed the CCTV footage. However, he was granted bail soon after his arrest. There is no information yet on the condition of the victim, Ramfal, or the involvement of Aryan’s friends who were present during the assault.
The incident has sparked outrage over the inaction of bystanders and the leniency shown in granting bail to the accused so swiftly.
