The sacred city of Ayodhya, known as the abode of Lord Ram, is gearing up for a vibrant and grand celebration of Holi this year following the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the temple, shared details about the festivities planned in honor of the revered deity.
“This year, Holi is being celebrated in a grand manner in reverence to Lord Ram. Just as Lord Ram took form in Ayodhya, after the pran pratishtha ceremony, the way devotees flocked here for his darshan, creating a wonderful atmosphere, is truly remarkable,” stated Das in an interview with ANI.
The celebration will include the application of ‘gulal’ or colored powder, along with offerings of traditional sweets like kachori, gujiya, puri, kherr (pudding), and other delicacies that will be presented to Lord Ram, with prasad being distributed among devotees. Das highlighted the unprecedented enthusiasm among devotees, attributing it to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram.
“This enthusiasm is unprecedented, all because of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram,” emphasized Das.
Earlier in the day, a large number of devotees gathered at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to partake in the Holi celebrations. The occasion marked the first Holikotsav after Lord Shri Ram Lala was seated in the grand temple, as shared by Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had presided over the historic ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, an event that drew immense attention and participation from devotees across the country. Since then, the temple has seen a significant influx of devotees eager to pay their respects and be part of the sacred celebrations.
