Thirteen survivors of a tragic trekking expedition in Uttarakhand have returned to Bengaluru, reuniting with their families after a harrowing ordeal. The trek, which claimed the lives of nine out of 22 trekkers from Bengaluru due to severe weather conditions in the Uttarkashi region, has left the survivors in shock.

Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, who was involved in coordinating rescue efforts, also returned to Bengaluru along with the survivors. The process of bringing back the deceased is underway, with their bodies expected to arrive in Bengaluru soon. Initially planned to be airlifted, the bodies are now being transported via road to Delhi airport before being flown to their final destinations.

In a social media update, Krishna Byre Gowda outlined the arrangements for transporting the bodies and ensuring they reach their respective homes with the support of government officials and disaster management teams. The tragic incident occurred during a trek organized by Himalayan View Trekking Agency, where adverse weather conditions stranded the trekkers on the mountain during their return journey from a 35-kilometer trek in Uttarkashi.
