Mob Kills 5 of Family After Violent Clash Erupts Over Property Dispute in Uttar Pradesh

Tragedy struck in Uttar Pradesh as five members of a family lost their lives, and another is battling for survival following a violent clash that erupted today over a longstanding property dispute. The incident unfolded in the Deoria district, where a feud had been brewing between two individuals, Prem Yadav and Satyaprakash Dubey, often referred to as a “village strongman.”

The roots of the dispute lay in a contentious property matter that had strained relations between the two parties for an extended period. Seeking resolution, Prem Yadav reportedly visited Satyaprakash Dubey’s residence early in the morning today to engage in discussions aimed at ending their ongoing rivalry.

During their conversation, a tragic turn of events occurred when a woman, whose identity was not disclosed, attacked Prem Yadav with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in his murder. News of Yadav’s killing quickly spread throughout the village, inciting outrage among his supporters.

In a horrifying turn of events, a large mob, composed primarily of Prem Yadav’s supporters, stormed Satyaprakash Dubey’s house in retaliation for Yadav’s murder. In the ensuing violence, five members of Dubey’s family lost their lives, including Kiran Dubey (his wife), Saloni, Nandani (his daughters), and Gandhi (his son). The only survivor, Sarvesh Dubey, an 18-year-old son of Satyaprakash Dubey, had been away from home at the time.

Sarvesh Dubey, speaking about the tragic incident, said, “It was my brother’s birthday. I didn’t know that this will happen. I went to the Katha and told him that I will give him whatever I get from it.” He expressed the family’s demand for strict action against the culprits and was visibly distraught.

The situation in the area remains tense following the brutal killings, prompting heavy police deployment to maintain order. Two individuals have been arrested thus far, and a thorough investigation into the incident is underway, as stated by officials.

Senior police officer Prashant Kumar assured that action would be taken against those who resorted to violence, saying, “A police force has been deployed, and all senior officers are present.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed district officials to provide comprehensive assistance to the affected families. He has also directed the police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the guilty parties face the consequences of their actions, as per his office’s statement.
