Kolkata, February 2, 2025 : Acclaimed engineer and emerging poet Vaishna Biswas officially launched her poetry collection, ‘Unheard Melodies’, at the Kolkata International Book Fair 2025 on February 2. Published by Exceller Books, this powerful collection explores themes of social justice, personal struggles, and human resilience, shedding light on oppression, pain, and loss while offering messages of hope, courage, and renewal.
The launch event was graced by Prof. Dr. Samiran Chattopadhyay, Vice Chancellor of Techno India University, as the chief guest. Also present were Vaishna’s mother, Prof. Dr. Chandrani Biswas, Associate Professor of English at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, and her father, Prof. Dr. Sujoy Biswas, Registrar of Techno India University and Director & CEO of Techno India Group.
Vaishna is well known for her academic excellence. A South Point School alumna and a state rank holder in board exams, she pursued her B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunications from Jadavpur University (2021), graduating with an impressive CGPA of 9.75/10. Her research has been published in multiple IEEE journals, and she has worked as a Technical Research Associate at the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), contributing to key projects on 5G spectrum auctions, satellite communication, IoT, and OTT platforms.
Her debut poetry collection, Unheard Melodies, is a deeply moving work that captures the struggles of injustice, trauma, and loss, while celebrating hope, courage, and the indomitable human spirit. The seamless fusion of her technical expertise and artistic expression makes her a standout voice in contemporary literature.
