Woman Molested in Ambulance; Husband Thrown Out Without Oxygen Support in Uttar Pradesh

In a harrowing incident in Uttar Pradesh, a woman was allegedly molested by ambulance workers while accompanying her ailing husband to a hospital. After the assault, the workers reportedly removed her husband’s oxygen support and threw both of them out of the vehicle.

The incident took place on August 30 in Siddharthnagar district. The woman, who had been caring for her husband Harish, had initially taken him to Basti Medical College after his health deteriorated. When doctors referred him to another hospital, the woman was unable to afford the private hospital’s fees and decided to return home for treatment.

During the ambulance ride, the driver allegedly forced the woman to sit in the front with him. Both the driver and his aide then sexually harassed her. When she protested and attempted to call for help, they retaliated by cutting off her husband’s oxygen supply and abandoning them on the roadside.

The woman claimed that the ambulance driver also stole her jewelry during the incident. Her husband, who was left without proper medical support, sustained severe injuries, and his condition worsened rapidly.

Upon learning about the assault, the woman’s brother contacted the police. However, despite the police taking the injured man to the hospital, he died shortly afterward. The victim has filed a written complaint at the Ghazipur police station in Lucknow.

Additional Director General of Police Lucknow North, Jitendra Dubey, confirmed that a complaint has been received and is under investigation. The woman has expressed frustration over the lack of immediate action against the ambulance driver and his aide.
