In a shocking revelation, a vigilance squad from the Rajasthan Education Department uncovered a widespread cheating operation during the Rajasthan State Open School exams for Classes 10 and 12. The incident unfolded at a government middle school in Kolu village, Dechu, where teachers were caught red-handed aiding students in cheating.
Led by Nishi Jain, the flying squad conducted random checks across exam centers in the state when they received a tip-off about organized cheating at the Kolu village school. Upon arrival, they found the school gates locked, prompting them to scale the walls to gain access. What they discovered inside was a scene of blatant disregard for exam integrity.
“We found teachers actively facilitating mass-scale cheating,” recounted Nishi Jain, describing how teachers were writing exam answers on blackboards for students to copy. The vigilant officials captured these egregious acts on camera, exposing a flagrant violation of exam protocols.
The situation escalated further with alarming discoveries of monetary transactions. “Students were found in possession of significant amounts of cash,” Jain revealed. “One student had ₹2,100 on them, and another admitted to paying ₹2,000 to teachers for unfair assistance.”
Even more disturbingly, the squad uncovered teachers participating as dummy candidates. “Two teachers from the science stream were caught writing exams on behalf of students,” Jain disclosed. “They were identified as Anasuya and Komal Varma, who not only facilitated cheating but also engaged in exam malpractice themselves.”
Local authorities swiftly responded to the scandal by dispatching a police team to the school. The Rajasthan Education Department has taken decisive action in the aftermath, registering a case against 10 teachers, including Principal Rajendra Singh Chauhan. “Immediate disciplinary measures have been implemented,” assured Kishore Bohra, Block Education Officer at Phalodi. “Six third-grade teachers and one librarian have been suspended pending further investigation.”
This incident has sparked grave concerns about the integrity of the Rajasthan State Open School exams, designed to provide educational opportunities to marginalized students. The exposure of such widespread cheating underscores the challenges faced in maintaining fairness and transparency in educational assessments.
