In a daring and potentially life-threatening stunt, a man and a woman from Pune have been arrested for their reckless behavior atop a dilapidated temple building. Identified as Mihir Gandhi, 27, and Minakshi Salunkhe, 23, the duo were caught performing a dangerous act while a third person, who was filming the stunt, remains at large.
The incident came to light when a video of the stunt went viral, showing Gandhi lying at the edge of the temple roof while Salunkhe dangled from a height equivalent to at least a 10-storied building. The background of the video revealed the risky nature of the stunt, with speeding vehicles visible on a nearby road, heightening the potential danger if Salunkhe had lost her grip.
Following public outrage and demands for strict action, the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station took swift action, tracing and arresting Gandhi and Salunkhe. Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil stated that the duo has been charged under IPC Section 336 and other relevant sections for endangering lives.
Despite the seriousness of the offense, Patil mentioned that since the jail term for the offense is less than six months, Gandhi and Salunkhe will not be remanded to custody. This decision has sparked debate among citizens regarding the adequacy of the punishment for such dangerous stunts.
The incident has highlighted the need for greater awareness and caution among individuals, especially on social media platforms where stunts like these often garner attention. Authorities are actively searching for the third person involved in the stunt and remain hopeful of apprehending him soon.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the perils associated with seeking thrills at the cost of one’s safety and the importance of responsible behavior, particularly in the age of social media where trends and challenges can sometimes promote risky actions.
