Latest news"Police Investigate Possible Ragging After TISS Student Found Dead in Mumbai Apartment"

Anurag Jaiswal, a student of Mumbai’s Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), was found dead at his rented apartment in the city on Saturday morning. Jaiswal, originally from Lucknow and enrolled in the Human Resource program, was discovered unresponsive by his three roommates.

Jaiswal had attended a party with approximately 150 students in Vashi the previous night. When he failed to wake up the next morning, his roommates rushed him to a hospital in Chembur, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is under investigation, with initial suspicions pointing towards possible ragging, a banned practice in educational institutions.

Mumbai Police have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Jaiswal’s death. The roommates have been questioned as part of the investigation. The student’s family in Lucknow has been notified of the incident.

The police are currently examining all angles, including the potential involvement of ragging, and are working to determine the precise cause of Jaiswal’s death.
