India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended a global invitation to tech enthusiasts, innovators, and stakeholders for the upcoming Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023. In a LinkedIn post, PM Modi emphasized the revolutionary impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various sectors, highlighting its profound influence on technology, innovation, healthcare, education, agriculture, and more.

Modi noted the exponential expansion of AI applications and highlighted India’s position as a young nation with a dynamic startup ecosystem and a skilled workforce, poised to significantly contribute to AI’s evolution on a global scale. He emphasized India’s scalable, secure, affordable, sustainable, and replicable solutions and cited the country’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative as an exemplar of pioneering efforts.

The prime minister underscored India’s rapid technological advancement in the past decade, attributing the nation’s progress to the widespread penetration of mobile and internet connectivity, and scalable models for digital inclusion. He emphasized India’s use of AI across various domains, including language services, personalized education, accessible healthcare, and informed agriculture.

PM Modi highlighted India’s commitment to inclusive growth and innovation, aiming to ensure that no one is left behind in the journey of progress. He emphasized the significance of forums like GPAI, where India, as a co-founder, actively contributes to fostering responsible AI development and deployment.

India’s role as the Lead Chair of GPAI signifies its commitment to harnessing AI for global welfare, with a focus on ensuring the Global South also benefits from AI’s advancements. Modi expressed India’s dedication to establishing a regulatory framework for Safe and Trusted AI, aiming for widespread and enduring global implementation. The Summit is expected to feature diverse sessions, including the AI Expo showcasing strengths of 150 startups.

The Prime Minister’s call for global participation in the GPAI Summit 2023 aims to unite tech visionaries and stakeholders for discussions on responsible AI development, emphasizing India’s commitment to harnessing technology, particularly AI, for the welfare of humanity and fostering a path of inclusive growth and innovation.
