Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Ayodhya bore witness to a heartwarming exchange between the Prime Minister and Meera Majhi, the beneficiary of the Ujjwala scheme. Following his tea rendezvous at Majhi’s residence, PM Modi took the initiative to send tokens of appreciation and goodwill to her family.

In a letter penned in Hindi, dated January 2, PM Modi conveyed his sincere wishes for the New Year to Meera Majhi and her family. Expressing his delight at meeting the family in the sacred city of Ayodhya, PM Modi reminisced about enjoying tea prepared by Majhi herself during his visit.

Acknowledging Majhi’s role as the 10th-crore beneficiary of the Ujjwala scheme, PM Modi emphasized that this achievement wasn’t merely a number but a testament to the collective dreams and aspirations of millions across the nation. He praised Majhi’s confidence, alongside her family’s, showcased during televised interviews following the visit, lauding their candidness in sharing their experiences.

PM Modi emphasized the smiles on the faces of numerous beneficiaries like Majhi as his source of motivation and fulfillment, instilling a renewed vigor to work tirelessly for the nation’s welfare.

Reiterating the transformative impact of the Ujjwala Yojana, PM Modi envisioned the enthusiasm and aspirations of millions contributing significantly to India’s grand and prosperous future during the ‘Amrit Kaal’.

The Prime Minister’s spontaneous visit to Majhi’s residence near Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya was an impromptu gesture during his tour to unveil various developmental projects, including an airport and revamped train station.

The Ujjwala scheme, launched in May 2016, aims to provide LPG connections to women from below poverty line (BPL) families, facilitating access to clean cooking fuel and heralding socio-economic empowerment.

PM Modi’s personal interaction and subsequent gesture to Majhi exemplify a heartfelt appreciation for the transformative impact of welfare schemes, reinforcing a commitment to fostering the well-being and aspirations of every Indian.
