Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered his personal recommendations for must-visit places in Uttarakhand, underscoring the natural beauty and divinity of Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Temples in the Kumaon region of the state. In a post shared on social media, PM Modi expressed the special nature of his recent visit to these holy sites, emphasizing their spiritual significance and awe-inspiring surroundings.
Parvati Kund, located in Pithoragarh, is one of India’s most revered shrines, drawing faithful devotees every year. Situated at an elevation of approximately 5,338 feet, this Hindu pilgrimage site is believed to be where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati meditated. Thousands of devotees flock to the site annually to seek blessings from the divine couple.
During his recent visit to Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Modi performed prayers and puja at Parvati Kund, seeking blessings from the holy Adi-Kailash at the site, known globally for its spiritual importance and captivating natural beauty.
PM Modi’s visit also extended to the Jageshwar Dham in Almora, another prominent pilgrimage destination. Here, he performed puja at an altitude of around 6200 feet, where the Jageshwar Dham encompasses approximately 224 stone temples.
Accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Prime Minister Modi’s visit to these spiritual and picturesque destinations underscores their significance in the region.
Reflecting on his visit, PM Modi stated, “Of course, Uttarakhand has many well-known places worth visiting, and I have also visited the state very often. This includes the sacred places of Kedarnath and Badrinath, which are the most memorable experiences. But, to return to Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Temples after many years has been special.”
In addition to his spiritual visit, Prime Minister Modi unveiled projects with a total investment of over ₹4,000 crore in Uttarakhand, emphasizing India’s journey to new heights of success.
As PM Modi’s recommendations shed light on the spiritual and natural treasures of Uttarakhand, the region continues to attract visitors and pilgrims seeking both divine blessings and the serenity of its stunning landscapes.
