"Swachh, Swasth Bharat Vibe": PM Modi's Cleanliness Drive Garners Nationwide Participation

In a spirited demonstration of national unity and commitment to cleanliness, thousands of individuals from all walks of life, ranging from politicians to students, participated in an hour-long cleanliness drive across India today. The initiative, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marked a collective effort to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti and promote a “Swachh and Swasth Bharat” (Clean and Healthy India).

Prime Minister Modi, renowned for his active engagement in social causes, took a hands-on approach during the cleanliness drive. He was joined by fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya, incorporating the elements of fitness and well-being into the initiative.

Sharing a video of their participation on his official social media account, PM Modi expressed, “Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we blended fitness and well-being also into the mix. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe.”

The campaign received widespread support, with several other prominent leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Union ministers, actively participating in cleanliness programs held in various regions of the country. Home Minister Amit Shah engaged in Ahmedabad, while BJP chief JP Nadda led the drive in Delhi.

Prime Minister Modi had previously called for “one hour of shramdaan (voluntary labor) for swachhata (cleanliness)” on October 1 during an episode of his radio program, “Mann Ki Baat.” He emphasized that this collective effort would serve as a “Swachhanjali” (Tribute of Cleanliness) to Mahatma Gandhi, as the nation commemorates his birth anniversary.

The appeal for active participation in the cleanliness drive extended beyond political leaders. Renowned cricketers such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma joined the cause, urging citizens to unite for “Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” (One Date, One Hour, Together). This call to action aimed to strengthen the resolve toward cleanliness and hygiene, underscoring the power of citizen-led movements in driving social change.

The “Swachh, Swasth Bharat Vibe” campaign not only underscores the importance of cleanliness but also promotes the integral connection between cleanliness and overall well-being. As India continues its journey towards a cleaner and healthier nation, this collective effort serves as a testament to the spirit of unity and dedication to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a cleaner India.
