In a significant development, the Indian Army announced the successful neutralization of one terrorist in an ongoing anti-infiltration operation codenamed ‘Bajrang’ in the Uri Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, initiated on June 22 based on specific intelligence inputs, continues as security forces maintain vigilance in the region.
The identity of the deceased infiltrator has not been disclosed yet, highlighting the sensitivity of ongoing operations along the LoC. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army shared the update on social media, confirming the elimination of one terrorist and the continued efforts in the anti-infiltration operation. The area, known for frequent infiltration attempts and skirmishes, remains a critical focus for Indian security forces.
Security forces encountered the infiltrators in the Gohallan area of the Uri sector, where suspicious movement was detected along the LoC. Upon being challenged, the militants resorted to gunfire, prompting a swift response from the Army. The encounter resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist, with the operation ongoing to ensure the area’s security.
This incident follows recent confrontations along the LoC, including the thwarting of an infiltration bid and the elimination of two Pakistani terrorists associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Baramulla district earlier this week. The joint operation involving the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and CRPF led to the successful cordon and elimination of the terrorists in the Hadipura village of the Rafiabad area.
Commander of 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Brigadier Deepak Mohan, confirmed the identity of the slain terrorists as Usman and Umar, both of Pakistani origin and affiliated with LeT. These operations underscore the continuous efforts by Indian security forces to thwart infiltration attempts and maintain peace and security in the region amidst ongoing challenges along the LoC.
