In a horrifying incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a woman has been arrested for the murder of her three-year-old daughter in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The accused, identified as Kajal, allegedly killed her child in a gruesome act inspired by the popular television show Crime Patrol.

The tragic case unfolded when the body of the young girl, Misti, was discovered in a red trolley suitcase abandoned in a residential area in Muzaffarpur’s Minapur on Saturday. The discovery of the child’s lifeless body sparked widespread outrage and prompted the police to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the crime.

During the investigation, forensic experts found traces of blood in the family’s home, including on the floor, in the sink, and on the terrace. These findings led police to suspect foul play, particularly since Kajal, Misti’s mother, was missing. Her husband, Manoj, informed the police that Kajal had told him she was going to visit her aunt on the day of the incident, but she never returned.

Manoj filed a missing persons report, which escalated the search for Kajal. Police tracked her phone location and eventually found her hiding at her boyfriend’s house. Upon her arrest, Kajal confessed to the murder, revealing that she was involved in an extramarital affair for the past two years and had wanted to move in with her lover. However, her boyfriend did not want Misti to accompany them, leading Kajal to make the chilling decision to kill her daughter.

“She wanted to take her daughter along, but the boyfriend did not want this. The woman was confused. Eventually, she slit her daughter’s throat with a knife. She then stuffed the body in a red trolley bag and dumped it in the bushes next to their home,” said Muzaffarpur’s city police chief, Awadhesh Dixit.

Kajal admitted that she got the idea for the murder after watching episodes of Crime Patrol, a popular crime anthology show known for dramatizing real-life incidents. She also confessed to attempting to clean up the bloodstains at the scene but failed to remove all traces, which were later detected by forensic experts. The murder weapon, a knife, has been recovered by the police.

When questioned about the possible involvement of Kajal’s boyfriend in the crime, police officers stated that there is currently no evidence linking him to the murder. “We have not found anything suggesting the boyfriend’s role in the killing, so we have not detained him. She has also said she committed the crime after being influenced by Crime Patrol and that her boyfriend did not talk her into doing it,” Officer Dixit added.

The brutal murder of the young girl has left the community reeling, with many questioning the influence of crime shows on vulnerable individuals. The case is under investigation, and the police are continuing to gather evidence to ensure justice is served.
