J&K Police Release Sketches of Three Terrorists Involved in Doda Attack, Announce ₹5 Lakh Reward

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketches of three terrorists believed to be responsible for a recent series of attacks in the Doda district, including the deadly ambush on July 16 that resulted in the deaths of an army officer and three soldiers. The police have also announced a reward of ₹5 lakh for information leading to the capture of each of the wanted terrorists.

The ambush took place in the Urarbagi area of Dessa forest, marking a significant escalation in violence in the region. The sketches of the terrorists, who are currently believed to be moving in the upper reaches of Doda and Dessa, were released to the public in hopes of garnering information that could lead to their apprehension.

In an effort to encourage the public to come forward with information, the police have provided several contact numbers for reporting tips. The July 16 attack was the second major terror incident in the Jammu region this month, following an ambush in Kathua’s Badnota village on July 8, which resulted in the deaths of five soldiers. The region has experienced a concerning increase in terror attacks recently.

Prior incidents include the killing of six terrorists in Kulgam district and an attack on June 26 in Gandoh, where three terrorists were killed. On June 11, terrorists targeted a joint security picket in Chattargala, Bhaderwah, injuring five Army personnel and a police officer. Another attack occurred the following day, injuring head constable Fareed Ahmed in Kota Top, Gandoh tehsil.
