5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Jammu and Kashmir, No Casualties Reported

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, sending tremors across the region. According to officials, the epicentre of the earthquake was located in Afghanistan at coordinates 36.49 degrees north latitude and 71.27 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 165 kilometers.

Despite the strong tremors felt in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, there have been no reports of casualties or significant property damage so far. Authorities have assured the public that they are closely monitoring the situation.

The earthquake’s effects were particularly felt in the Kashmir Valley, where people rushed out of their homes and offices. However, reports from local authorities confirm that no immediate damage has occurred in the region.

As of now, officials are continuing to assess the full extent of the impact, but early reports suggest that the earthquake, while strong, has not caused major disruptions or destruction.
