In a touching tribute to a heroic member of their team, the Indian Army honored Kent, a six-year-old Golden Labrador who made the ultimate sacrifice during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri.
Kent was leading a group of soldiers during the operation when terrorists suddenly opened fire. In a selfless act of bravery, the tracker dog placed herself between the gunfire and her handler, ultimately giving her life to protect him.

With her keen sense of smell, she expertly traces the intruder’s path and quickly guides the officers to a patch of tall bushes where the suspect is hiding. Kent barks to alert the soldiers as the intruder emerges with his hands raised. She bravely leaps at the man, ensuring his capture, and then takes her position near her handler, exemplifying her unwavering commitment to duty.
The news of Kent’s heroic sacrifice resonated widely on social media, with an outpouring of tributes applauding her “supreme sacrifice” and unwavering determination.
