In a devastating turn of events, over 100 people lost their lives in Northern Gaza on Thursday as Palestinians gathered around aid trucks, awaiting food supplies. The incident, which unfolded amid desperate humanitarian conditions, has drawn widespread condemnation and calls for urgent action.

India, expressing deep shock at the loss of lives, issued a statement through the Ministry of External Affairs, highlighting the gravity of the situation. The ministry emphasized the need for safe and timely delivery of humanitarian aid to address the dire conditions prevailing in Gaza.

According to reports, Palestinians were fired upon allegedly by Israeli troops as they gathered around the aid trucks. Eyewitnesses and Palestinian officials have reported the tragic events, describing scenes of chaos and devastation.

The massacre unfolded when a convoy of relief trucks arrived in Gaza City’s Sheikh Ajleen neighborhood. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the incident, expressing grave concern for the civilians in Gaza. The UN has urged for urgent humanitarian assistance, emphasizing the need for a ceasefire and the release of hostages to mitigate the escalating crisis.

The death toll reported by the Gaza health ministry has shocked the international community, with over 30,000 deaths and 70,000 injuries documented. The UN chief has underscored the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis, calling for immediate action to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the suffering of those affected by the conflict.
