Former Chief Minister of Telangana, Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), has made a fervent appeal to the public, urging them not to visit him in the hospital, emphasizing concerns over infection risks and the well-being of other patients. In a video message shared by PTI, Rao urged people to prioritize their safety and refrain from visiting him for the next ten days, acknowledging the numerous patients undergoing treatment at the facility.
“I request all of you to go back to your places safely. I request people not to come to see me for the next 10 days. Hundreds of patients are undergoing treatment in this hospital. Their safety is also important for us,” Rao expressed in the video clip. Assuring his well-wishers, he conveyed his intent to meet them once his health improves.
Chandrashekar Rao is currently admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad following a fall at his Erravalli farmhouse. KT Rama Rao, his son and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader, confirmed that KCR sustained a fracture due to the incident, subsequently undergoing hip replacement surgery.
The hospital authorities have projected a recovery period of six to eight weeks for Rao. A statement from the hospital regarding his condition mentioned, “On evaluation, including CT scans, he was found to have left hip fracture. He would require left hip replacement for the same, and the usual course of recovery for such cases is expected to be six to eight weeks.”
The former Telangana CM’s hospitalization prompted visits from prominent figures, including Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, actors Chiranjeevi and Prakash Raj, among others, who called on Rao at the hospital to convey their regards and wishes for his speedy recovery.
Expressing concern for KCR’s health, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his prayers and wished for his swift recuperation, stating, “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health.”
As Rao focuses on his recovery, his appeal stands as a precautionary measure amid the ongoing pandemic, emphasizing the importance of collective safety and prioritizing healthcare protocols to ensure the well-being of all patients in medical facilities.
