
Former Goa MLA Lavoo Mamledar passed away on Saturday shortly after a physical altercation with an auto driver in Karnataka’s Belagavi district. The exact cause of his death remains unclear, but police have arrested the driver involved in the incident.
Altercation Caught on CCTV
According to sources, the dispute occurred around 1:40 PM near Srinivas Lodge when Mamledar’s vehicle reportedly bumped into the auto-rickshaw.
CCTV footage of the altercation shows Mamledar and the driver engaging in a heated argument, which quickly escalated into a physical fight. The video reveals Mamledar slapping the driver, who retaliates by slapping him back. The confrontation intensifies as bystanders attempt to intervene, but the driver continues to assault the former legislator.
After the scuffle, Mamledar walked into Srinivas Lodge, where CCTV footage captured him collapsing on the stairs. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Investigation Underway
While the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, authorities are investigating whether it was due to injuries from the altercation, a pre-existing medical condition, or another factor. The arrested driver is currently in police custody, and further details are awaited.
