3 Dead as Fire Breaks Out in 14-Storey Building at Lokhandwala Complex, Mumbai

A devastating fire broke out early Wednesday morning in a 14-storey residential building at Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri, Mumbai, claiming three lives. The blaze erupted around 8 am on the 10th floor of the Riya Palace building, located on 4th Cross Road, as confirmed by civic authorities.

According to officials, three people sustained injuries in the fire and were rushed to Cooper Hospital, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival. The victims were identified as 74-year-old Chandraprakash Soni, 74-year-old Kanta Soni, and a 42-year-old woman named Pelubeta.

Firefighters responded swiftly to the incident and were able to bring the blaze under control by 9 am. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The tragic incident has sparked concerns over fire safety in high-rise buildings across the city. The Mumbai Fire Brigade is continuing its inquiry into the cause of the fire and ensuring that safety protocols are reviewed to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
