
A major fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at a scrap factory located on First Street of Pellakuru Colony, Kovur, Nellore district. The blaze rapidly spread due to the presence of iron scrap, waste materials, and plastic at the site, causing thick smoke to engulf the surrounding area and raising concerns among local residents.
Police and fire personnel rushed to the scene after receiving an early morning alert. Firefighters are currently battling the blaze in efforts to bring it under control. Kovur Sub-Inspector Ranganadh Gowd confirmed that the authorities acted swiftly after being informed about the incident.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials have stated that it is still unclear whether the fire resulted from an electrical short circuit or if it was deliberately set.
