Delhi experienced light rainfall accompanied by a maximum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius, offering some respite from the prevailing weather conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital received 4 mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am.
Sunday morning greeted Delhiites with a gentle drizzle, as the minimum temperature settled at 13.7 degrees Celsius. The IMD forecasted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of more rain or drizzle throughout the day.
In its advisory, the IMD warned of the potential for thunderstorms with light-to-moderate intensity rain over isolated areas of Delhi and its adjoining regions. Specific areas such as Civil Lines, Dilshad Garden, Seemapuri, and others were mentioned as likely locations for such weather activity. Additionally, there is a chance of hailstorms in some areas.
While the sky is expected to remain cloudy over the next few days, the IMD indicated no forecast of rain in the coming days. However, the humidity level remained relatively high, recorded at 70 percent at 5:20 pm.
On the air quality front, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 125, falling within the “moderate” category as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The “moderate” AQI level signifies acceptable air quality, although sensitive individuals may experience slight discomfort.
The AQI scale ranges from zero to 500, with values below 100 considered satisfactory. Categories above 100 indicate varying degrees of pollution, with higher values posing health risks to vulnerable groups.
