The Delhi government has declared February 12, 2025, as a holiday on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, according to an official notification issued on Monday.
The notification, released by the general administration department, states that all government offices, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings under the Delhi government will remain closed on this day.
“The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi is pleased to declare Wednesday, February 12, 2025, as a holiday in all government offices, autonomous bodies, and public undertakings of the Delhi government, on account of Guru Ravidas Jayanti,” the notification read.
Additionally, the government has canceled the restricted holiday on Guru Ravidas Jayanti, which was previously declared in November 2024.
Guru Ravidas Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of the revered 15th-century saint and social reformer Guru Ravidas, who is widely respected for his teachings on equality and devotion. The decision to declare a full holiday instead of a restricted one reflects the significance of the occasion.
