Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has initiated a donation drive for the party in preparation for the upcoming elections. Naidu emphasized the importance of TDP’s victory for the state’s progress and launched a website to facilitate donations from the people of Andhra Pradesh.
In a statement, Naidu highlighted the integral role of TDP in the lives of Telugu people and encouraged contributions towards the party’s functioning. The newly launched website allows individuals to donate funds in various denominations, ranging from ₹99 to ₹99,999 and more.
Naidu led by example by making the first donation of ₹99,999, expressing his belief that such contributions will strengthen TDP’s efforts in rebuilding the state. He also outlined plans to enhance the government volunteer system if TDP comes to power, promising a monthly salary of ₹10,000 to volunteers compared to the current ₹5,000 under the ruling YSRCP government.
The volunteer system, introduced by the YSRCP in 2019, involves volunteers overseeing 50 households each and delivering welfare schemes directly to beneficiaries. Naidu’s pledge to increase volunteer salaries reflects TDP’s commitment to grassroots governance and welfare initiatives.
With assembly elections scheduled for May 13 in Andhra Pradesh and vote counting set for June 4, Naidu’s donation drive and promises of governance reforms are part of TDP’s campaign strategy to garner support and secure victory in the upcoming polls.
