
A tragic road accident in Punjab’s Jalandhar district claimed four lives and left 11 others injured on Monday when a bus traveling from Rajasthan to Jammu crashed into a brick-laden tractor-trolley.
According to police, the accident occurred near the Kala Bakra area on the Jalandhar-Pathankot highway. The tractor-trolley suddenly entered the highway from a village road, leading to a fatal collision with the bus.
The bus driver and a passenger were killed on the spot, while two other passengers succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Expressing grief over the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann extended condolences to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Mann stated in a post on X.
He also praised the Punjab Police’s Sadak Surakhya Force (road safety force) for their swift response in assisting the injured at the accident site.
