Bomb Threats Target Multiple Hospitals in Jaipur

On Sunday morning, several hospitals in Jaipur received bomb threats via email, prompting immediate action from law enforcement and bomb disposal teams. The hospitals affected include CK Birla Hospital and Monilek Hospital, which reported receiving the alarming messages around 7 am.

According to Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, four hospitals have confirmed receiving such threats, with the possibility of more institutions reporting similar incidents as they review their communications. The threatening emails claimed that bombs were planted under hospital beds and in bathrooms, and purportedly linked the threats to “terrorists” and “cultists.”

In response, police and bomb disposal squads were quickly dispatched to the affected hospitals to conduct thorough searches. No suspicious devices or materials have been found so far. The incident follows a recent pattern of bomb threats across various locations, including a similar scare at Ambience Mall in Gurugram and a prominent mall in Navi Mumbai’s Vashi area, which were later determined to be hoaxes.

This wave of threats echoes an earlier episode in May when approximately 250 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region received similar threats, resulting in widespread evacuations and extensive searches. Authorities eventually confirmed that these threats were false.

The police investigation revealed that the emails were sent using a VPN, which masked the sender’s location by routing data through foreign servers. In this case, a Russian company’s mailing service was used. The Union home ministry had previously emphasized the need for enhanced security measures and detailed protocols for handling such threats in schools.
