
A massive fire broke out at a godown in Delhi’s Okhla Phase-1 on Thursday afternoon, prompting an immediate response from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS). Officials confirmed that 24 fire tenders were rushed to the scene to douse the flames.
According to a fire department official, a distress call was received at 2:48 pm, reporting flames near Balaji Dharam Kanta. “Firefighters worked for nearly three hours to bring the situation under control, ensuring the fire did not spread to nearby structures,” the official said. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
Another Fire Incident in Connaught Place
Earlier in the day, a separate fire broke out at an eatery in Delhi’s Connaught Place market, injuring at least six people. The fire reportedly originated in the kitchen due to an LPG cylinder leak. The Delhi Fire Services received an alert about the incident around 11:55 am and swiftly responded to contain the blaze.
