Similar Incidents in Maharashtra

The tragedy in Nagpur follows a series of industrial explosions in Maharashtra.

On January 24, eight people were killed and seven others injured in a powerful explosion at an ordnance factory in the Jawahar Nagar area of Bhandara district. The blast was so intense that it caused the factory’s roof to collapse, requiring the use of earthmovers to clear the debris.

In September last year, a chemical factory in Raigad saw a fatal explosion that killed three laborers and injured three others. The blast reportedly occurred while workers were performing maintenance work on an empty methanol tank in the Dhatav industrial area of Roha town.

The recent incidents highlight ongoing safety concerns in Maharashtra’s industrial sector. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the Nagpur explosion to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences.
