Delhi's air quality remained at hazardous levels on Wednesday, as the city continued to face a "very poor" air quality index (AQI) for the fourth consecutive day. Man Dies in Bengaluru After Sitting on Firecracker in Bet Gone Wrong

In a tragic incident on Diwali night, a man in Bengaluru lost his life after a dangerous bet involving a firecracker went wrong. The deceased, identified as Sabarish, 32, reportedly took up a dare from friends, agreeing to sit on a cardboard box under which a powerful firecracker was placed, with the promise of a new autorickshaw as a reward.

According to local sources, Sabarish and his friends had been consuming alcohol before they decided to test the high-risk challenge. CCTV footage, which has since gone viral on social media, shows Sabarish sitting on the box as his friends light the fuse and move away from the area. Moments later, the firecracker exploded, sending a thick cloud of smoke into the air. The explosion’s shockwave caused severe internal injuries to Sabarish, who was seen collapsing in the footage. His friends quickly returned, but Sabarish lay motionless on the road.

Police have confirmed that Sabarish succumbed to injuries from the blast. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Bengaluru) Lokesh Jagalasar said that the incident is being investigated. Six individuals who were part of the group have been arrested and charged with culpable homicide. The case has been registered under the relevant sections, and the accused were presented in court.

This unfortunate event has sparked a discussion about the dangers of irresponsible behavior during festive celebrations, with authorities urging the public to exercise caution when handling fireworks.
