A Bangladeshi adult film actress, Riya Barde, known professionally as Arohi Barde, has been arrested by the Hill Line Police in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, for allegedly using a counterfeit Indian passport to reside in India. The arrest occurred following a tip-off regarding a Bangladeshi family suspected of residing in Ambernath, Nevali A, with fraudulent documentation.
Upon receiving the information, local authorities initiated an investigation that unveiled the family’s illegal activities. The inquiry revealed that an individual from Amravati had forged documents to enable Riya and three of her associates to stay in India illegally.
The Hill Line police have registered a case against Riya Barde and four others under Section 14(A) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, as well as various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
This incident is not an isolated one, as earlier this year, a case was filed against a 23-year-old woman in Thane, Maharashtra, for allegedly traveling to Pakistan using a fake passport and visa. The accused, Nagma Noor Maksood Ali, also known as Sanam Khan, reportedly changed her name and acquired multiple identity documents, including an Aadhaar card and PAN card, which she used to support her passport application. Police have also registered a case against an unidentified man believed to have facilitated her fraudulent documentation.
