Jammu, July 2, 2025:
The Department of Culture, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, successfully concluded a dynamic Student’s Summer Workshop 2025 at the iconic Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Held from 12th June to 2nd July, 2025, the multi-disciplinary workshop brought together young talents from across the region to explore and enhance their creativity through theatre, painting, and dance.
Under the expert mentorship of Artist Mahua Gupta and Artist Suresh Sharma, participants delved into the fundamentals and advanced practices of visual and performing arts. The 20 Days, initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation of students from different schools of Jammu, eager to sharpen their artistic skills during the summer break.
Theatre sessions included script reading, stage presence, and performance delivery, while the painting module focused on composition, color theory, and creative expression, along with different Indian Art Forms. Dance classes introduced classical and contemporary movements, rhythm exercises, and group choreography.
Speaking on the occasion, a representative from the Department of Culture highlighted, “Workshops like these play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of artists. We are proud to provide a platform that celebrates cultural expression and artistic excellence.”
The grand finale on July 3rd showcased students’ artwork, short theatrical performances, and dance routines, drawing appreciation from parents, art enthusiasts, and dignitaries alike.
With its holistic approach and professional guidance, the Student’s Summer Workshop 2025 has once again reaffirmed Jammu’s status as a growing hub of youth-centered cultural development.
