Sarfraz Ahmad, a versatile individual with a career spanning over two decades, is not only a renowned filmmaker but also a philanthropist with a deep commitment to social welfare. Born on February 10, 1984, in Bihar, India, Sarfraz’s journey in the world of the arts began with the encouragement and support of his father, Late Md. Imamuddin, who recognized his innate passion for dance and the arts.

Sarfraz’s career is a testament to dedication and a deep love for the performing arts. He embarked on his journey in dance at a young age and honed his skills through rigorous training. He completed his formal education up to the 12th grade and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Madurai Kamaraj University.

Sarfraz’s professional qualifications are extensive and impressive. These include training in Kathak and Western dance styles, resulting in numerous degrees and certifications in Kathak and painting from esteemed institutions. His career goes beyond personal growth, with pivotal roles in dance competitions, film projects, choreography in Hindi films, and teaching dance at schools. His passion for dance education even led him to provide home tuition for Indian classical and Western dance, painting, and fine arts in various locations in Gurugram and New Delhi. To expand his horizons further, he completed a Professional Digital Film Making course from the IFTA Film Institute in Mumbai, showcasing his versatility and unwavering dedication to the arts.

Awards and recognitions have been a constant feature of Sarfraz Ahmad’s journey. Notable accolades include winning the Ist prize in the All India Art and Craft Competition Awards (Bihar) in 1995, the Best Trainer Award in a dance competition from Kala Shree, Patna in 1996, and achieving the State Dance Championship (Bihar) for three consecutive years from 1997 to 1999. In 2002, he received the Century Award for Best Dance Troupe from On Mousmi Group and founded the Arts Club Institute in Jahanabad (Bihar) in 1997. His career also saw him honored as the Best choreographer in various dance competitions, such as “Zig Zag Zoobi Zoobi” in Gurugram in 2010 and others in subsequent years.

Sarfraz’s pursuit of excellence is evident in his extensive professional qualifications. These include Kathak dance training and several degrees in painting. His commitment to continuous learning is underlined by his pursuit of an Advance Diploma in Western Dance and his completion of a Professional Digital Film Making course.

His experience in the world of dance is vast and diverse. He has conducted regular dance classes in different schools, organized and participated in arts competitions, contributed to various musical albums and video projects, and ventured into choreography and judging dance competitions. His passion for dance education has led to him providing home tuition and dance classes, showcasing his versatile skills and dedication to the art of dance.

His foray into the world of film includes the ambitious project “HoJ: History of Jehanabad.” This film, produced by Sarfraz Ahmed and directed by Azhar Hussain, delves into the historical narrative of Jehanabad, offering a visually engaging and emotionally resonant journey through time.

In 1919, when the entire Hindustan was in uproar against the repressive Rowlatt Act, Dada Saheb Amiruddin played a significant role in the fight for independence. His relentless pursuit of India’s freedom came to a tragic end when he fell victim to British gunfire on December 30, 1919. This film, produced and directed by Sarfraj Ahmad, aims to honor the memory of this brave revolutionary and illuminate his pivotal role in India’s quest for independence.
