Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as ‘The Rebel Kid,’ has unfollowed everyone on Instagram amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the YouTube show India’s Got Latent and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks. Mukhija, who has 2.9 million followers on Instagram, was previously following around 1,500 accounts, according to a Reddit post.

Mukhija, known for her bold opinions and unfiltered videos, has been named in FIRs filed in connection with the controversy, alongside Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and others. The issue gained traction after Allahbadia allegedly made obscene remarks during an episode of India’s Got Latent, a reality show featuring comedians and influencers as judges and participants. The comments sparked widespread outrage and multiple legal complaints across the country, including one filed in Kota, Rajasthan, over allegedly obscene and offensive remarks about parents.

Assam Police have also registered a case under sections related to obscenity and public morality, further escalating the matter. The complaint names Allahbadia, Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija as key individuals involved in the controversy.

Adding to the fallout, Mukhija has been removed from the list of official promoters for the upcoming International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025, scheduled to take place in Jaipur on March 8-9. Her removal signals the growing impact of the controversy on her professional collaborations.

India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina, is a popular YouTube show that has featured several celebrity guests, including actor Rakhi Sawant, comedian Bharti Singh, influencer Uorfi Javed, and former Roadies anchor Raghu Ram. Mukhija recently appeared as a guest panellist on the show’s latest episode, where she was involved in an intense exchange of words with a contestant.

Mukhija, who rose to fame during the COVID-19 pandemic with her Instagram skits and reels, now finds herself at the center of a legal and social media storm. As the controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how she and others named in the case will respond to the growing scrutiny.
