In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 32-year-old man reportedly killed his girlfriend by stabbing her 15 times after she refused to marry him. The victim, identified as Farida Khatoon, died on the spot, and the accused, Girish NL alias Rehan Ahmed, surrendered himself at Jayanagar police station following the incident.
According to reports from The Times of India, Girish and Farida, aged 42, had been in a relationship for over a year after meeting at a spa in the city. Girish, who hails from Kolkata, had expressed his desire to marry Farida, who was already a mother of two children.
The tragic incident unfolded on Saturday when Farida returned to Bengaluru with one of her daughters on March 28. They met Girish, who was celebrating his birthday, and went out for dinner. Later, they visited Shalini Ground, where Girish proposed marriage to Farida. However, Farida declined his proposal, stating that she could not marry him.
In a fit of rage, Girish allegedly assaulted Farida with a knife and then proceeded to stab her 15 times in the park. He fled the scene after committing the crime.
A nearby coconut vendor discovered Farida’s body in a pool of blood and promptly informed the police. Within an hour, Girish surrendered himself at the Jayanagar police station. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are probing the accused further.
