
In a continued display of support, India dispatched a second batch of humanitarian aid to assist civilians affected by the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) C17 aircraft, carrying 32 tonnes of relief materials, departed for Egypt’s El-Arish Airport to aid Palestinians caught in the ongoing strife.
The aid, handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent, aims to reach Palestine swiftly for distribution among those affected by the conflict. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi shared the news on social media, emphasizing India’s commitment to providing assistance. External Affairs Minister S Jaishanker also reiterated New Delhi’s dedication to extending humanitarian support to Gaza through official channels.
Previously, India had dispatched 38 tonnes of humanitarian relief to aid civilians amidst the Israeli ground offensive in Gaza. The aid included essential medical supplies such as fluids, painkillers, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, basic sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets.
Highlighting India’s stance on the conflict, the Ministry of External Affairs emphasized the country’s consistent call for the protection of civilians and adherence to humanitarian law in the ongoing military operations in Gaza.
