A shocking and gruesome incident unfolded in Yendagandi village, located in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, when a woman discovered an unidentified man’s body inside a parcel she received on Thursday night. The parcel, which was supposed to contain electrical appliances as per an earlier promise, also contained a ransom letter demanding ₹1.30 crore from the woman.
The woman, identified as Naga Tulsi, had earlier approached the Kshatriya Seva Samithi, a local organization, seeking financial assistance for the construction of her house. Based on her request, the Samithi had previously sent her tiles for the construction. Later, she filed another petition with the Samithi asking for additional support in the form of electricity appliances. In response, she received a WhatsApp message from the Samithi stating that they would send items such as lights, fans, and switches.
Following this communication, Tulsi received a parcel at her home on Thursday night, which the delivery person claimed contained the promised electrical appliances. However, upon opening the parcel, Tulsi was horrified to find the body of an unidentified male, aged around 45, and a ransom letter. The letter demanded ₹1.30 crore and threatened the woman’s family with severe consequences if the amount was not paid.
Tulsi immediately informed her family, who then alerted the police. A team was swiftly dispatched to the scene, and the body was taken to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had likely been dead for four to five days before the parcel was delivered.
The police have registered a case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the delivery and the identity of the person in the parcel. Authorities have also begun tracing the delivery person and are questioning representatives of the Kshatriya Seva Samithi. As part of the investigation, the police are reviewing missing persons complaints from surrounding areas in an effort to find any connection to the body.
District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi visited the village to oversee the investigation and ensure that all leads are thoroughly explored.
The case has raised serious concerns about the safety and security of parcels and deliveries, as well as the mysterious circumstances surrounding the ransom demand. Authorities are continuing their efforts to unravel the full story behind this chilling incident.
The investigation remains ongoing, with officials promising to take all necessary actions to solve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.
